NAVs fall led by weak market cues

Equity Mutual Funds ends in red led by sloppy trading session. The weak global and domestic market sentiment led the BSE benchmark to shed 249 points and close at 17,131.15 while NSE benchmark fell 31.40 points or 0.61% to 5,114.65.

Equity Mutual Funds ends in red led by sloppy trading session. The market plummeted soon after the RBI's announcement to increase the limit of external commercial borrowing (ECB) to cater falling rupee. All Equity and Balanced funds registered negative returns with only few gainers in either category.


All the sectoral mutual funds followed the suit recording no gainers in any of its category.


The weak global and domestic market sentiment led the BSE benchmark to shed 249 points and close at 17,131.15 while NSE benchmark fell 31.40 points or 0.61% to 5,114.65.


The RBIs measures to increase the ECB limit and reduce the lock-in period in some long-term infrastructure bonds boosted the debt market. All the funds in Short term and Long term category witnessed surge with no decline recorded in either category.
