Equity diversified NAVs ended mixed with negative bias and their advance:decline ratio stood at 83:152 as the benchmark Nifty closed the session on a flat note on Friday following indecisive move in European and US index futures, especially ahead of stress test results of 91 European banks today. In early trade today, the markets were positive on the back of 2-2.5% rally in the US markets on Thursday and good Asian cues.
The 30-share BSE Sensex closed at 18,130.98, down 17.83 points and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 7.15 points to settle at 5,449.10.
On the sectoral front, Banking and FMCG Funds advance while MNC, Pharma and Tecnology funds closed mixed.
Long and short term debt funds finished with positive returns; their advance:decline ratio stood at 73:9 and 54:17, respectively.
