NAVs end higher as market gains

Equity funds advanced led by positive market rally. As the markets closed higher, all equity and balanced schemes registered positive returns with only few losers in either category. The advance: decline ratio recorded for broader indices funds Large cap and Small & Mid cap were 76: 3 and 33:16 while Equity Diversified, ELSS and Balanced recorded a ratio of 83: 12, 48: 1 and 20:2

In the sectoral space, all the sector funds advanced witnessing no losers barring FMCG.

The Indian market has closed in green for seventh consecutive week making it one of the best market rally in recent times. The Sensex ended at 18289.35 up 135.36 points or 0.75% and the Nifty closed at 5568.35 up 46.40 points or 0.84%.

The debt funds continued to excel showing no signs of decline. Except for few funds in both Short term and Long term funds category, all the others advanced.

*  UTI Infrastructure Fund (G) up 1.34%

*  Taurus Discovery Fund (G) down 0.71%
*  DSP BlackRock Micro Cap Fund - Regular Plan (G) down 0.71%

Tax saving funds: Top gainers

*  IDFC Tax Advantage (ELSS) Fund (G) up 1.17%
*  L&T Tax Advantage Fund - Series I (G) up 1.05%
*  L&T Tax Saver Fund (G) up 1.02%

Tax saving funds: Top losers

*  Escorts Tax Plan (G) down 0.05%

*  UTI Banking Sector Fund (G) up 1.49%
*  Reliance Banking Fund (G) up 1.44%
*  Sundaram Financial Services Opportunities - Retail Plan (G) up 1.37%
