NAVs decline led by weak market condition

Equity funds declined in the last trading session owing to weak performance of the markets. In the market session, the benchmark sensex shuts shop at 17301.91 down 16.90 points or 0.10% while Nifty closed at 5239.15 down 9.00 points or 0.17%.

NAVs decline led by weak market condition
Equity funds declined in the last trading session owing to weak performance of the markets. Among the broader indices, Small & Mid Cap delivered better returns as compared to its counterpart Large cap funds. All the Equity and Balanced category were seen declining with very few gainers registered.


The sector funds however delivered good performance with majority if the funds ending in green. Banking & Finance and FMCG were among the top perfo5ming categories with no declines. Pharma & Healthcare however succumb under market pressure witnessing no advances. Technology funds also ended in green led by positive sector outlook.

In the debt space, both Long term and Short term funds continue to excel with very few declines however according to Mohan Shenoi, Kotak Mahindra Bank the supply pressure in thebond market will continue for a while due to tight liquidity conditions.
