NAVs advance sharply as mkts gain

Equity diversified NAVs ended strong with advance:decline ratio of 246:4, as the Nifty traded strong for the entire day in the range of 5110-5140 and closed above its psychological 5100 mark. Buying was seen in auto, banks, pharma, capital goods, FMCG and IT stocks. 
 
The 30-share BSE Sensex closed at 17102.60, up 108.11 points or 0.64% and the 50-share NSE Nifty went up 35.30 points or 0.69%, to settle at 5,092.15.

 

All sectoral funds advanced; the BSE Auto, Bank, Healthcare,FMCG and IT indices were up by 1.79%, 1.09%, 0.90%, 0.76% and 0.70% respectively.

 

Short term debt funds too ended with positive returns while long term debt funds closed mixed; their advance:decline ratio stood at 103:3 and 42:37, respectively.
