NAVs advance as markets end higher

All the funds in Equity and Balanced category were seen gaining with very few decline registered in either category. The performance of debt funds however declined as bonds market were trading lower due to profit booking and higher core inflation.

Equity funds delivered good performance as markets closed in a positive terrain. All the funds in Equity and Balanced category were seen gaining with very few decline registered in either category.


The sectoral categories too followed the same suit with majority of funds ending in green.


The market shrugged off gloomy trade deficit data and gave thumbs up to lower than expected monthly inflation data. The Sensex shuts shop at 17728.20 up 94.75 points or 0.54% and the Nifty closed at 5380.35 up 32.45 points or 0.61%.


The performance of debt funds however declined as bonds market were trading lower due to profit booking and higher core inflation.
