Equity diversified NAVs witnessed sharp rally and ended with positive advance:decline ratio of 208:1, as the benchmark indices closed the day in a positive terrain with the help of banking, realty, capital goods, select power and oil stocks.
The 30-share BSE Sensex ended with a gain of 54.76 points or 0.55% at 9,958.22 and the 50-share NSE Nifty went up 13.30 points or 0.44% at 3046.75. All sectoral funds advanced. Balanced and tax saving funds also finished with positive returns.
Among the equity diversified funds, the top gainers were Sundaram BNP Paribas Select Midcap (G) up 2.70%, Escorts Growth Plan (G) up 2.31% and UTI Master Value Fund (G) up 2.25%. The only loser was Lotus India AGILE Fund (G) down 0.23%. Among the tax saving funds, the top gainers were DBS Chola Tax Saver Fund (G) up 1.77%, ING Tax Saving Fund (G) up 1.65% and JM Tax Gain Fund (G) up 1.54%. The only loser was Lotus India AGILE Tax Fund (G) down 0.39%. Among the sector funds, the top gainers were JM Basic Fund (G) up 2.00%, JM Healthcare Sector Fund (G) up 1.96% and ICICI Pru FMCG Fund (G) up 1.75%. Among the balanced funds, the top gainers were JM Balanced Fund (G) up 1.42%, Birla Sun Life 95 Fund (G) up 1.41% and HDFC Balanced Fund (G) up 1.19%. For more Mutual Fund News click here
