Tata Mutual Fund has slashed its exposure in food & beverages, cement & construction and automotive sector, while decreased its weightage in utilities, pharmaceuticals and tobacco space.
NHPC, NCC and Rural Electrification were the top sells, while Power Grid Corporation, Exide Industries and NTPC were the top buys.
The study of the portfolio managed by Tata Mutual Fund for the month of May 2012 shows that, in the food & beverages space, the fund sold Nestle India and Balrampur Chini Mills, while purchased GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare. The fund sold Tata Motors (DVR), Mahindra and Mahindra and Maruti Suzuki in the automotive sector and also exited Motherson Sumi Systems from the same space. But it purchased Hero Motocorp, Exide Industries and WABCO India. In the utilities pack, it bought Power Grid, NTPC and CESC, while sold NHPC and Tata Power Company. The fund bought Divis Laboratories, Strides Arcolab and introduced Shasun Pharmaceuticals in the pharmaceuticals pack. It sold Cipla, Pfizer and Aventis Pharma.
