Pru ICICI MF sells GE Shipping; picks ITC, Hindalco
Pru ICICI MF reduced its exposure in the auto, bank, cement, metals, oil & gas, services and telecommunication sectors. GE Shipping Company, Bank Of Baroda, and Crompton Greaves were the top sells. It bought HLL and over 71.5 lakh shares of ITC.
Pru ICICI Mutual Fund pared its exposure to the auto, bank, cement, metals, oil & gas, services and telecommunication sectors. Meanwhile fund increased weightage in chemical, engineering, technology, pharma and FMCG stocks. Manufacturing and utilities stocks were realigned in its porfolio last month.
A study of equity portfolios of Pru ICICI mutual fund for the month of October shows that Exide Industries and Maruti were among sell list and it exited from Ashok Leyland. However, it bought Tata Motors and made a fresh entry in Apollo Tyres. In banking pack, it sold over 23 lakh shares of Bank Of Baroda. Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India and ICICI Bank were other stocks in sell list. (View - All Bulk Deals by Mutual Funds)
It sold ACC, GMR Infra and Gujarat Ambuja Cement but entered into Gayatri Project. In the metal pack, it sold Gallantt Metal, Tata Steel and Sesa Goa and exited from Jindal Steel & Power. On other hand it bought over 24 lakh shares of Hindalco.
The fund house sold Reliance Industries and over 23 lakh shares of GE Shipping. It also pared exposure to Chennai Petroleum and Shrenuj and Company. Among the telecommunication stocks, it sold VSNL and nearly 10 lakh shares of MTNL but bought Sterlite Optical.
It increased its exposure in the chemical, engineering, technology, pharma and FMCG space. In the chemical sector, it bought United Phosphorous and Asian Paints and entered into Gwalior Chemical.
In engineering area, it bought BHEL, Siemens and 10 lakh skares of HEG and got into Cummins India and Atlas Copco. It sold over 16 lakh shares of Crompton Greaves. In technology and pharma packs it bought Megasoft, Tulip IT, TCS, Dishma Pharma, Novartis India. It entered Sasken Communication, CMC and Sun Pharma. However, it sold Hinduja TMT and exited Glenmark Pharma.
In FMCG sector, it bought HLL and over 71.5 lakh shares of ITC but exited United Beweries.
It also bought Raymond, Vardhman Textile, Reliance Energy, Tata Power and NTPC. It sold SRF, KG Denim and exited CESC.
ITC, Hindalco Industries, Tata Power Company were the top buys, while Great Eastern Shipping Company, Bank Of Baroda, and Crompton Greaves were the top sells.
