The study of Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund for the month of December 2011 showed that in the oil & gas sector, the fund bought Reliance Industries, GAIL India and ONGC, while sold IOC and Cairn India. It also exited Petronet LNG in the same space. (View - All Bulk Deals by Mutual Funds).
In the pharmaceuticals segment, it purchased Lupin, Dr Reddys Laboratories and Torrent Pharmaceuticals. However, it sold Cipla, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries and exited Jubilant Life Sciences.
The fund bought NTPC, Tata Power Company and CESC in the utilities space.

In the metals & mining segment, it sold Jindal Steel & Power, Coal India and MOIL. However, it purchased Hindalco Industries, Tata Steel and SAIL.
In the services industry it exited Indian Hotels Company.
