Franklin Templeton Asset Management has enhanced its exposure in information technology, oil & gas and telecommunication sector, while decreased its investments from banking & financial services, utilities and manufacturing sector.
A study of the Franklin Templeton Asset Management portfolio for the month of January 2013 showed that in the Information Technology space, the fund bought Infosys, MindTree and TCS. However it sold Wipro, Polaris Financial Technology and Infinite Computer Solutions India from the same space.
In the Oil and Gas segment, it purchased ONGC, Reliance Industries and IOC, while it sold Gujarat State Petronet and Petronet LNG Ltd in the same space. (View - All Bulk Deals by Mutual Funds).
The fund bought Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular in the Telecommunication space.
In the Banking & Financial Services sector, the fund sold Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and State Bank of India. It also exited from Bank Of India and Numero Uno Projects. However, it bought IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank and ING Vysya Bank.
The fund sold Tata Power Company and exited from NHPC in the Utilities segment. However, it purchased NTPC and Power Grid Corporation in the same segment. (Check out - Which sectors are attracting Fund Managers?)
In the Manufacturing pack, it sold Bharat Electronics and exited from Raymond, while it bought Supreme Industries from the same pack.
