Strong fortnight for small and midcap space

It’s been a strong fortnight for the small and the midcap space for giving double-digit returns, significantly out performing the benchmark indices in the Nifty and the Sensex.

It's been a strong fortnight for the small and the midcap space for giving double-digit returns, significantly out performing the benchmark indices in the Nifty and the Sensex. We did have had a few buzzing stocks in this sessions, the first one being Shyam Telecom which has been buzzing after the department of the telecom initiated a move to sharing of active infrastructure space amongst new network providers. This move has shown pretty strong for these network providers, as they would not have to spend significant amount of capital expenditure.

Another stock that has been buzzing has been Zensar technology , which gained about 40% in the last two weeks. Zensar technology is an end-to-end solution provider focused primarily on the retail space and the insurance space recently bagged a USD 5 million contract in the Middle East and South Africa, which will be executed in the first three months looking extremely strong.

The third stock on my list is Soma Textile & Industries which saw the RBI increase on the FII limit on the stock to about 74%, usually it is positive for these stocks and has been buzzing a fair bit since that announcement came in, rallied about 70% in the last 2 weeks.

Mudra Lifestyle , the fourth stock on my list a mid size or small size garment player plans to implement project, which will involve capital expenditure of about Rs 200 crore. This would enable to add an additional capacity of 2 lakh garments per month, which will be implemented from June and has been buzzing on this news for the last 10 days.
