Here are experts equity calls for the day on how the markets are expected to trade:

Ridham Desai, Morgan Stanley: New bull markets are started by favourable liquidity conditions and attractive valuations. At the end of December, both these elements fell into place. Bull markets make progress as fundamentals improve. We expect upward progress, although the pace of the recent move may induce volatility.

Anirudha Dutta, CLSA: The Q3 result season is bringing in a sense of earnings stability after nearly a year of consistent earnings downgrade. This, coupled with easier global liquidity conditions with a large LTRO coming up by Feb-end, will keep the market sentiments up. We have tweaked our model portfolio to add some beta on policy initiative hope.
