CNBC-TV18 has learnt that the promoters of Sharekhan and SSKI are looking at exiting the broking business completely. CNBC-TV18 reports on the reasons and who are they likely to sell off to.

 

The promoters of SSKI are likely to sell their 33% stake to IDFC. IDFC already holds 33% stake in SSKI and employees hold 33% stake in SSKI.

 

The promoters of Sharekhan may sell their 37% stake to GAP or Intel or HSBC who are their existing partners. Sources say that JM Financial is also in the fray. However, JM declined to comment on the Sharekhan stake buy talks. The promoters stake sale is likely at Rs 600/sh and the values retail business at Rs 600 cr.

 

The SSKI and Sharekhan promoter says that they are looking at raising money for the retail business and deny any stake sale plans currently.
