IPO, New Issues

Investors are once again a worried lot after two latest entrants that debuted on September 25 closed at a steep discount of more than 20% to their offer price. While Deep Industries opened 22.5% below its issue price, the other debutant, KEW Industries, too, disillusioned the investors with a loss of 21.33%.

A host of IPO issues are in the pipeline and the caveat that IPO experts are offering is: Check out the company management, its earnings visibility and business fundamentals.

This fiscal year's best IPO performer Tech Mahindra holds itself quite formidably on all these three counts, they say. The other best performers since their listing this financial year include companies like Sun TV (42.42%), Voltamp Transformers (27.35%), Reliance Petroleum (11.67%) and Plethico Pharmaceuticals (11.4%).

On the other hand, Gangotri Textiles has disappointed the investors with a net loss of 29.88%, followed by Deccan Aviation (-25.07%), JRG Securities (-23.75%), Prime Focus (-22.1%) and Unity Infraprojects (-18.13%).
