During this slide the broader indices, Sensex and Nifty have touched their new 2008 lows of 12,402.84 and 3777.30 in today's session and breached earlier lows of 12,514 and 3790.2, respectively, which was touched on July 16, 2008.
However, on analysis BSE 500 stocks clarified that there are still 146 companies trading above July 16, 2008 low price. Out of that 52 companies are still trading above 15% of the same. It includes stocks like Shriram EPC , Indian Bank , Core Projects , Punj Lloyd , Union Bank and Bank of Baroda .
On other hand, due to this tremendous selling pressure 356 companies are trading below 2008 lows. 120 stocks are trading below 20% from 2008 lows. It includes stocks like NIIT , Sujana Towers, HDIL , Ranbaxy Labs , Prithvi Info and Shree Precoated .
