The markets seems to be in the consolidation phase for some time now. In the last one month Sensex and Nify have been trading rangebound. Sensex hit the all time high of 21206.77 on January 10, 2008 and has been largely trading in the range of 20,000 to 21,000.
According to the moneycontrol research, most of the midcap and smallcap stocks have given up their gains from their recent highs. However, there were few who have also gained in the during the same period.
Poonam Pharmaceuticals , MJP Leasing , Jayant Mercantile and Sandu Pharmaceuticals have lost 59%,49%, 48% and 46% off their highs respectively. In the largecap, IFCI lost 30%, Gillette India sheds 28% and Videocon Industries slipped 27% from their highs. However, stocks like Rollatainters gained 20%, Apollo Sindhoori Capital , Jindal Worldwide and Deepak Nitrite gained 10% each from their highs.
