India has seen extraordinary surge in foreign institutional investment this year. According to a report, the FIIs have already pumped in $ 2.78 billion (Rs 12,500 crore) in Q2 of the current fiscal and Domestic Funds and MFs have pumped in $ 2.28 billion (Rs 10,260 crore) into equities.
India has seen extraordinary surge in foreign institutional investments this year. According to a report, the FIIs have already pumped in $ 2.78 billion (Rs 12,500 crore) in Q2 of the current fiscal and Domestic Funds and MFs have pumped in $ 2.28 billion (Rs 10,260 crore) into equities.
In the first 10 months of this calendar year and first two weeks of November, FIIs have pumped in Rs 41,235.3 crore in markets. This compares to Rs 51,767.6 crore in the whole of calender year 2005. So far in November, FIIs have pumped in over Rs 3270 crore in Indian equity markets. This despite the fact that India is seen as the most expensive equity markets in the emerging markets worldwide.
Moneycontrol investigations pans over 898 listed stocks whose second quarter ended on September 2006 and finds that364 companies have found favours with the FIIs , 215 companies have witnessed no change in their shareholding pattern with the FIIs while the rest have fallen in the second quarter (ending September) of 2006 when compared to first quarter (ending June) of 2006.
