Equities registering record lows and losing more than half of their value from their 52-week highs have been plentiful in the BSE-500 universe. Weighed down by poor global events and bear plays, as many as 83 stocks (see table on next page) have wiped out half of their gains in one year. The biggest loser in this turmoil has been Shree Ashtavinayak , registering more than 80% drop, followed by DB Realty with 85% cut. One of the biggest free fall was seen in GTL and its sister concern GTL Infrastructure . The former lost more than 60% in one day as terrified investors hurried to get rid of the telecom infrastructure companies’ shares on a host of concerns. Stocks of GTL Infra and GTL are currently trading 69.17% and 80.89%, respectively, below their 52-week highs. Meanwhile, there are other stocks which got battered on the BSE 500.
