Delta Corp , a diversified company, has gained 153.63% in the last one year. However, today the stock was marginally down on the buzz that it has sold Kenyan foray, Delta Centre to World Bank for USD 22.8 million.

The scrip touched an intraday high of Rs 86.80 and an intraday low of Rs 83.30. It closed at Rs 83.95, down Rs 0.40, or 0.47%. There were pending buy orders of 8,594 shares, with no sellers available. The total traded volumes were of 1,413,074 shares.

Recent acquisition:


Recently, the company bought 51% stake in under construction five-star deluxe hotel, Daman Hospitality, for Rs 50 crore.


In an interview with CNBC-TV18, Hardik Dhebar, Group CFO, Delta Corp said, he expects this acquisition to be a great strategic fit in the entire gaming space. “We are acquiring about 51% stake, by virtue of which we are putting in close to about Rs 100 crore,” he adds.

March Quarter results:


The company reported a profit after tax of Rs 165.7 crore in financial year 2010-11, a 1,269.4% growth as compared to Rs 12.1 crore in previous year. Results included sale of Prabhadevi land for Rs 250 crore in the second quarter of FY11.


Net sales jumped 184% to Rs 376 crore from Rs 132.5 crore in the same period.
