Smallcap company Garware Polyester closed Monday's session up 5.59% or Rs 9.25 to end at Rs 174.75 on the BSE. It touched an intraday high of Rs 182 and an intraday low of Rs 168.30. There were pending sell orders of 80 shares, with no buyers available. Total traded volumes were of 212,061 shares. The scrip has been a spectacular performer climbing 124.61% in nine-months. Garware was the first company to produce polyester film in India for the last 20 years. Its product range includes films that cater to the solar control industry, packaging industry, reprographic industry etc. Garware: The consistent performer The company has reported its earnings for the first quarter ended December 2010. It has reported a 77% jump in net sales of Rs 265.33 crore from Rs 149.9 crore it did in the same quarter last year. Net profit rose 374% to Rs 51.08 crore compared to Rs 10.77 crore a year ago. Speaking to CNBC-TV18, MS Adhul, Director of Garware Polyester said the film maker is confident of delivering similar set of numbers in coming quarters as well. "We may cross 50% total in exports in the coming quarter as well as in the next few years," he informed The company expects exports up pick in European region due to anti-dumping duty being lifted. "We have already contacted all our old clients. We have already started sampling and first consignment should leave this month after opening of business in Europe for us," he stated. More on the stock The company touched its 52-week high Rs 293.90 and 52-week low Rs 50.80 on 14 Oct, 2010 and 02 Mar, 2010, respectively. Currently, it is trading -40.54% below its 52-week high and 244% above its 52-week low. Its market capitalisation stands at Rs 402.98 crore. The company's trailing 12-month (TTM) EPS was at Rs 33.30 per share. The stock's price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio was 5.25. The latest book value of the company is Rs 75.15 per share. At current value, the price-to-book value of the company was 2.33. The dividend yield of the company was 0.86%. Peer Comparison:
