Even though smallcaps have been keeping themselves away from the limelight for some time now, but last week's data on the BSE website on bulk deals suggests that maybe investors of all kinds are looking at them. According to the data, most of the companies that were part of the list of companies that were considered for bulk deal between November 20 and November 27, were small cap companies that caught the eye of investors. For example, Zenith Birla was one such company. The company's shares were bought both on Nov 20 and Nov 21. On November 20, around 8,80,000 shares were bought at a traded price in the range of Rs 50.13-50.89. And on Nov 21, 203415 shares were bought at Rs 39. Shrachi Sec was also kept bustling thorugh the week with it being bought everyday between Nov 20-23. On 23, around 2,70,000 shares of the company was bought at Rs 64.61. On 22, nearly 3,00,000 shares were bought at a traded price of Rs 62.99. Three different investors bought shares of the company on 21, with total number of shares bought amounting to 4,74,348 shares and at a traded price in the range of Rs 59.61-62. Rock Hard Petroleum , a company with a market capitalization of Rs 6.74 crore saw active buying of its shares on Nov 20, 21 and 24.On Nov 20, two different investors bought 48700 shares and 1,50,000 shares at Rs Rs 8.5 and Rs 8.74 respectively. Around 53572 shares were bought on Nov 21 at Rs 8.85 and 150000 shares on Nov 24 at Rs 8.5. Table on the next page
