The Midcaps are slowly waking up to join the feast. A good 99 companies belonging to BSE Midcap are now trading above their May 10 highs.

The Midcaps are slowly waking up to join the feast. A good 99 midcap companies have started participating in the rally are now trading above their May 10 highs. Out of these 98 stocks had fallen between 54% to 5% between May 10, 2006  and June 14, 2006 (when Sensex touched its lowest). Transworld Info, a company with a market cap of Rs 1474 crore, singularly managed to weather the May-June onslaught an remained in the green. Today it tops the BSE midcap list with a return of 186%.

Shree Precoated Steel and AIA Engineering which fell 35% and 32%, respectively during the said period have gained 129% and 103%, respectively in May 10-December 4 period. In the same list of 99 companies, Mahindra Gesco was the bottom of the rung on June 14. Owing to the confidence in real estate sector, the stock has gained a respectable 11% till December 4. Lakshmi Machine Works is the most expensive stock in the list which is trading at a market price of Rs 35754 on December 4, and netting a gain of 36% since May10.  The stock had dwindled 39% between May 10 and June 14, 2006.
