The markets closed on strong note, recovered almost what it lost in previous two sessions. The BSE Sensex gained 265 points or 1.46%, to close at 18,439.48 and Nifty was up 86 points or 1.58% at 5,531.50.

It was a good start to the week with the market ending trade on strong note. It managed to recover most of the losses posted in previous two sessions.

The BSE Sensex gained 265 points or 1.46%, to close the day at 18,439.48 while the Nifty shut shop up 86 points or 1.58% at 5,531.50.

An interesting thing to note is that select stocks - both mid and largecap - are now at the verge of their 52-week high. A continuation of the momentum should lead to these stocks hitting their year highs by tomorrow itself.

Siemens closed at Rs 857.85, up Rs 0.80, or 0.09% with volumes of 71,856 shares. It has touched an intraday high of Rs 860.35 and an intraday low of Rs 855.35. There were pending buy orders of 29,456 shares, with no sellers available. (52-week high Rs 884.95).

Nirma closed at Rs 255.90, up Rs 0.65, or 0.25% with volumes of 7,351 shares. It has touched an intraday high of Rs 256.35 and an intraday low of Rs 252.50. (52-week high Rs 264.85).

TTK Prestige closed at Rs 1,991.60, up Rs 31.20, or 1.59% with volumes of 106,321 shares. There were pending sell orders of 809 shares, with no buyers available. It has touched an intraday high of Rs 2,024.70 and an intraday low of Rs 1,960 (52-week high).

C Mahendra Expo closed at Rs 253.95, up Rs 2.30, or 0.91% with volumes of 304,923 shares. It has touched an intraday high of Rs 260 and an intraday low of Rs 252.05. There were pending sell orders of 3,015 shares, with no buyers available. (52-week high Rs 267.40)
