At 13.44 hrs IST, the Nifty was trading flat. It was yet another flat session for the markets. The Nifty was trading in a narrow band of 20 points for most part of the day. Buying was seen in FMCG and auto stocks. Selling was seen in realty, IT and capital goods stocks. The Sensex was up 13.42 points or 0.08% at 17532.68, and the Nifty was up 5.30 points or 0.10% at 5251.20. About 1497 shares advanced, 1390 shares declined, and 321 shares were unchanged. In the largecap space, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communication, Tata Power, Idea Cellular and SBI were up 1.2-3.5%. On the losing side, HDFC, ICICI Bank, Mahindra and Mahindra, Jindal Steel and Infosys were down 0.7-1.4%. Godrej Properties gained 2%; the stock shot up more than 7%. The Chairman of Godrej Group, Adi Godrej in an interview with CNBC-TV18 said that Ahmedabad residential project was the largest project in the company's portfolio. The project, which will have a total of 20,000 apartments has already sold 1000 flats within 10 days of launch. The township project, Godrej said, with an area of 40 million square feet and an average rate of Rs 2500 per square feet will mostly be residential. S Kumars Nationwide surged over 11% with 400% rise in volume on the back of upcoming IPO of its subsidiary. The company's Chairman Nitin Kasliwal said the company would raise about USD 100-125 million through the Reid & Taylor IPO. Reid & Taylor, he said was recently valued at USD 840 million by GIC. MSK Projects rallied 11%, Welspun Gujarat is going to buy 75% stake in the company. Top gainers on the BSE Midcap: Kirloskar Oil, UB Holdings, Berger Paints, Emami and Chambal Fert were up 3-6%. Top losers on the BSE Midcap: REI Six Ten, Indiabulls Real, IVRCL Infra, Marico and Novartis India were down 2.3-3.5%. Top gainers on the BSE Smallcap: Ganesh Housing, Hitachi Home, S Kumars Nation, MSK Projects and Sandur Manganes were up 10-16%. Top losers on the BSE Smallcap: Murli, Richa Ind, Piramal Life, Subhkam Capital and Atco Corp were down 4-10%.
