At 14:19 hours IST, the Nifty was witnessing buying interest. Shares of oil marketing, technology, banking, realty, power stocks along with HDFC, SAIL, HUL, Tata Steel, Ambuja Cements and Tata Motors were trading on the higher side.

The Nifty rose 29 points, to 4,542 and the Sensex went up 130 points, to 15,303. About 745 shares advanced while 485 shares declined on the NSE. Leading contributors were TCS, SBI, HDFC, HUL, NTPC, Infosys, ICICI Bank, L&T and HDFC Bank. Top percentage gainers - Taj GVK Hotels, Munjal Showa, ISMT, Bengal Fabrics, Shilp Gravures, Patni Computer and Honeywell Automation were up 12-20%. Top percentage losers - Ken Financial, Sanco Trans, Karur KC P, Arvind Chemical, Josts Engineers, Rico Auto, PNB, TVS Srichakra, Salora International and Brandhouse lost 5-10%. At 13:04 hours IST - buying in shares of technology, banking, metal, oil marketing, power, realty along with ONGC and HUL was helping the markets to stay on the higher side. However, the volatility was not yet out of the markets ahead of July expiry.
