Nifty languishing in dull trade at 5370; Hero Moto, CIL up
It was a dull session for the market as Nifty was struggling to find momentum on either side. The Greek vote is out of the way and the focus will now shift back to domestic cues.
It was a dull session for the market as Nifty was struggling to find momentum on either side. The Greek vote is out of the way and the focus will now shift back to domestic cues.
The Nifty has been consolidating for past five trading sessions. Analysts are of the view that Nifty is likely to see some profit booking this week. 5330 remains a key support level.
The Sensex was up 9.13 points or 0.05% at 17757.82, and the Nifty was down 3.10 points or 0.06% at 5378.50. About 1207 shares advanced, 1002 shares declined, and 1189 shares remain unchanged.
Realty, capital goods and power stocks were on seller's radar today. The broader market too was consolidating after stellar rally in last 5 weeks.
Stocks like Karuturi Global, Archies and Intrasoft Technologies will remain in focus ahead of Valentine's Day.
Top gainers on the BSE Midcap: BOC India, Britannia, Shree Global, Mcleod and Motherson Sumi were up 4-5%.
Top losers on the BSE Midcap: Suzlon Energy, Himadri Chem, KSK Energy, Pantaloon Retail and City Union Bank were down 3-7%.
Top gainers on the BSE Smallcap: Honda Siel, Jamna Auto, Minda Industries, Numeric Power and Jindal Worldwid were up 10-17%.
Top losers on the BSE Smallcap: Lovable Lingerie, Garden Silk Mills, Money Matters, C & C Construction and Sundaram-Clayton were down 6-9%.
