The US markets gained for the third day on the back of strong economic data of Industrial output and weak dollar. The markets closed near day's high and hit fresh 2009 highs. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 108 points or 1.1% at 9,792; S&P Index was up 16 points or 1.5% at 1,069 and the Nasdaq Composite was up 31 points or 1.5% at 2,133. Commodities: The CRB (Commodity Research Bureau) Index gained 2%. CRB was up 4.5% this week. Crude was up 2.2% at $72.4/bbl. US crude inventories declined 4.73 million barrels versus market expectation of 2.5. Gold closed at $1018 an ounce; at 18-month highs. Copper was up 3.5% to $6420/tonne. It rose most in 3 weeks. Currencies: Dollar index fell further. It ended at 76.15 the lowest level since 23rd September. Yen depreciated 23bp versus USD at 91.16. Euro was at $1.4715 versus USD. Market cues: -FIIs net buy USD 183 million in equity on September 15 F&O cues: -Futures Open Int up by Rs 2036 crore
