Markets ended the week on a strong note on account of sustained buying interest seen in scrips across sectors. Auto, oil & gas, banking and real estate stocks outperformed. Midcap and smallcap markets have outperformed the benchmark indices.
On the macroeconomic GDP numbers for Q1 came in strong at 9.3% and infltion came inline with market estimates of 3.94%.

Sensex was up 196.86 points or 1.30% at 15318.60, and the Nifty up 51.70 points or 1.17% at 4464.00.
About 1772 shares have advanced, 1164 shares declined, and 80 shares are unchanged.
The BSE Midcap Index ended at 6,608.42 up 123 points or 2%.
The BSE Smallcap Index ended at 8,060.52 up 103 points or 1.06%.
The BSE Capital Goods Index was up 1% at 13,424.74. BEML, Bharat Bijlee, Lakshmi Machine, AIA Engineering, Kirloskar Oil closed higher.
The BSE Health Care Index was up 2% at 3,572.82. Nicholas Pirama, Biocon, Opto Circuits, Wockhardt were among the top gainers.
The BSE Auto Index closed closed at 4,878.05 up 2%. TVS Motor, Escorts, Mah and Mah, Apollo Tyres, Maruti Udyog, Amtek Auto ended higher.
The BSE Metal Index closed at 11,565.81 up 2.4%. Tata Steel, JindalStainless, JSW Steel, Hind Zinc, Jindal Steel, SAIL advanced.
The BSE FMCG Index gained 1% at 1,973.93. Nestle, United Brewerie, HUL, Colgate, Tata Tea closed higher.
BSE Oil and Gas Index closed at 8,160.13 up 2.3%. Reliance Petro, Reliance, ONGC, Reliance Natura ended in green.
The BSE IT Index gained 1% at 4,585.66. Tech Mahindra, Financial Tech, Patni Computer, TCS, I-Flex Solution closed higher
The BSE Bankex was up 1.3% at 7,858.79. Andhra Bank, Federal Bank, PNB, Allahabad Bank, Oriental Bank ended higher.
The NSE cash turnover was at Rs 11066.46 crore and the NSE F&O turnover was at Rs 45012.59 crore. The BSE cash turnover was Rs 5043 crore. Total market wide turnover was at Rs 61122.05 crore.
Markets steady: NTPC, M&M, Tata Steel top gainers
The markets continue to trade strong at the higher level. Auto, oil & gas, banking and real estate stocks have outperformed.

Mkts climb further; realty, auto stocks strong
The markets have climbed some more points from its opening levels on account of buying coming in auto, realty and pharma stocks. Market breadth was positive with on NSE over 750 stocks on the advance side and nearly 250 stocks on the downside. Volumes has picked up after slow start today.

Tata Steel have been rallying for past 3 days on the back of good consolidated results reported after Corus acquisition.
Reliance Industries has hit all time high today. Its was trading at 1939.70 up Rs 32.30. Its intraday high is Rs 1,944.40 and an intra day low of Rs 1,900.05. Other auto stocks have been doing extremely good since yesterday and BSE auto index was up 1.92% at 4868.49. Major gainers in this space were TVS Motors up 9.02% at Rs 66.50 and Amtek Auto up 3.28% at Rs 372.
Realty space was also buzzing today. Major gainers in this counter were Indiabulls Realestate at Rs 485.36 up 3.66% and Parsvnath up Rs 10.45 at Rs 304.45.
Most active shares on BSE are HDIL at Rs 541.10 with 482,420 shares, Reliance at Rs 1,919 with 111,935 shares and Orbit Corporation at Rs 463.60 with 445,890 shares.
Markets open flat; Auto, power stocks up
The markets have opened very flat today despite Asian markets doing well today. Auto and power stocks were in demand today in the opening trade, however, banking, cement pack was little subdued.
At 9:56 am, Sensex was up 37 points at 15,158 and Nifty was down 2 points at 4409. Major gainers were BHEL, ONGC, Ranbaxy, Tata Steel, M&M, Maruti, Bajaj Auto and Tata Motors. SAIL, Rel Comm, Reliance, HDFCBank, ICICI bank sterlite industries, ACC were down.
Asian markets: Japanese shares gained today as exporters such as Sony Corp. and Canon Inc. advanced strongly, although banking stocks such as Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group declined.
Japan's Nikkei surged 1.12% or 181.41 points at 16,335.23, Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted gained 1.01% or 88.36 points at 8,859.57, Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose 0.29% or 69.16 points at 23,553.70, Singapore's Straits Times advanced 1.30% or 43.18 points at 3,364.33 and South Korea's Seoul Composite was up 0.70% or 12.89 points at 1,854.59.
US markets: The Dow Jones industrial average was down 50.56 points, or 0.38%, at 13,238.73. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 6.12 points, or 0.42%, at 1,457.64. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 2.14 points, or 0.08%, at 2,565.30
