It was a historical day for the markets as the Sensex breached the 15,000 mark in today's session. The markets outperformed despite negative cues from Asia and Europe. Technology stocks were the top contributors to the rally followed by capital goods and oil & gas stocks. Midcap index opened firm but gave up most of its gains to end flat. The smallcap index however held its gain and ended higher.
Other than bank, metal and healthcare all the other BSE sector indices ended in green.
