Market trades firm: Sensex hovers around 15,000 Markets continue to trade fim, after touching 15000 mark the Sensex continues to hover around that level. Asia closed largely flat and even Europe is also quiet. So markets have rallied all on theit own. At 14.38 pm IST, the Sensex is up 125.33 points or 0.84% at 14987.22, and the Nifty up 36.25 points or 0.83% at 4390.2. About 1588 shares have advanced, 892 shares declined, and 73 shares are unchanged. Real Estate stocks like Akruti Nirma have come back with a bang. Capital goods and oil & gas stocks are leading the uptrend. IT index is up nearly 3% and the gainers on the index are Tech Mahindra, Patni Computer, TCS, Satyam, I-Flex Solution. Midcaps and smallcaps have also participated in the uptrend giving markets healthy breadth. At 14.41 pm IST, the Sensex is up 104.05 points or 0.70% at 14965.94, and the Nifty up 40.15 points or 0.92% at 4394.1. About 1592 shares have advanced, 891 shares declined, and 72 shares are unchanged. IT stocks are the top gainers on the bourses. Satyam, TCS and Infosys have surged higher on the bourses. Other gainers are ACC, Ambuja Cements, Reliance Comm, Suzlon Energy, Reliance Energy and Bharti Airtel. Nalco, HDFC, ICICI Bank, Satyam, GAIL Maruti Udyog, TCS and ONGC top losers. Most active shares on the bourses were DLF, ICICI Bank, IL&FS and IFCI. In the midcap space top gainers are PTC India, Shree Precoated, IL&FS Investsma, Blue Dart, Berger Paints, Thermax, Prism Cement. Markets rally: Sensex hits 15,000 The markets have picked up further momentum and moved further upwards. Sensex has conquered 15,000 level taking the longest to gain 1000 points. At 13.21 pm IST, the Sensex is up 136.12 points or 0.92% at 14998.01, and the Nifty up 31.10 points or 0.71% at 4385.05. Sensex is eyeing the 15,000 mark and the Nifty is also not far away from 4400 levels. Nifty futures discount has widened a little bit to 18 points. This rise has come despite weak cues from Asia and US. Except for the bankex, all the BSE sector indices are trading in green. IT, capital goods and oil & gas stocks are leading the uptrend. IT index is up nearly 2% and the gainers on the index are Tech Mahindra, Patni Computer, TCS, Satyam, I-Flex Solution. Midcaps and smallcaps have also participated in the uptrend giving markets healthy breadth. At 1:12 pm IST, the Sensex is up 122.66 points or 0.83% at 14984.55, and the Nifty up 33.50 points or 0.77% at 4387.45. About 1666 shares have advanced, 753 shares declined, and 61 shares are unchanged. ACC, Ambuja Cements, Reliance Comm, Suzlon Energy, Reliance Energy and Bharti Airtel were the top gainers Nalco, HDFC, ICICI Bank, Satyam, GAIL Maruti Udyog, TCS and ONGC top losers. Most active shares on the bourses were DLF, ICICI Bank, IL&FS and IFCI. Market trades in green: Midcaps, smallcaps outperform The markets are trading in green with moderate gains on account of selective buying seen in index pivotals. Activity is seen and midcap and smallcap stocks. Both the indices have outperformed the benchmark indices. The BSE midcap index is up 0.7% and the smallcap index is up 1.7%. At 11.54 am IST, the Sensex is up 48.03 points or 0.32% at 14909.92, and the Nifty up 16.75 points or 0.38% at 4370.7. About 1554 shares have advanced, 748 shares declined, and 80 shares are unchanged. On the macroeconomicfront, inflation came in at 4.13% as compared with 4.03% in the previous week. In the midcap space top gainers are PTC India, Shree Precoated, IL&FS Investsma, Blue Dart, Berger Paints, Thermax, Prism Cement. Cement stocks rae seeing good activity in the F&O segment. ACC, Ambuja Cements, Reliance Comm, Suzlon Energy, Reliance Energy and Bharti Airtel were the top gainers Nalco, HDFC, ICICI Bank, Satyam, GAIL Maruti Udyog, TCS and ONGC top losers. Most active shares on the bourses were DLF, ICICI Bank, IL&FS and IFCI. Mkts marginally in green: Cement, telecom in action Market is still in flat mode but trading marginally in the green. Banking, technology and auto stocks slipped while cement, telecom and power stocks in the green. At 10:36 am, the Sensex was up 29 points at 14,890 and the Nifty up 7.95 points at 4,361. Market breadth is positive, about 1116 shares have advanced, 615 shares declined, and 49 shares are unchanged. Nifty July futures was trading at a discount of 11.1 points at 4,350. ACC, Ambuja Cements, Reliance Comm and Reliance Energy and Bharti Airtel were the top gainers whereas HCL Tech, ICICI Bank, Satyam, GAIL Maruti Udyog, TCS and ONGC top losers. Most active shares on the bourses were DLF, ICICI Bank, IL&FS and IFCI. IL&FS has bought Bank of India's 12.25% stake in IL&FS Investment. IL and FS Investment Managers was locked at 10% on upper circuit. Markets flat in opening trade; ICICI Bank in red Market has opened on negative note following weak Asian cues but immediately turned into the volatile movement on the back of mixed reaction in the sectoral stocks. At 9:58 am, the Sensex was up 19 points at 14,881 and the Nifty up 7 points at 4,361. The market breadth is positive, a 392 shares have advanced while 184 shares declined on the NSE. Nifty July Futures was trading at a discount of 9 points at 4,352. Dr Reddy's Labs, Sterlite Ind, BHEL, Wipro and Bajaj Auto were the top gainers while ICICI Bank, BPCL, ABB, ONGC and TCS losers on the NSE. ICICI Bank is down 1.85% today. Wipro is up 1.11% on the news that its arm Wipro Consumer Care has acquired 100% in Unza Holdings for USD 246 million. 31.5 lakh IL&FS Investment shares have change hands on the BSE at Rs 152 per share. Japan's Nikkei 225 index reversed direction after six straight days of gains. It tumbled 0.63% or 113.98 points at 18,107.50. Hong Kong's Hang Seng plunged 0.59% or 131.19 points at 22,121.80. Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted declined 0.31% or 28.47 points at 9,120.31. Singapore's Straits Times was down 0.16% or 5.51 points at 3,546.17. However, South Korea's Seoul Composite was up 0.16% or 2.96 points at 1,850.75. Market cues
