Listen In: Inflation comes in at 6.55%; market unaffected

The top story of the hour is January's inflation number which came in at 6.55%, inline with Street estimates. The market has not reacted much to this number, with the Nifty up 0.26% at 5404. The Sensex is steady at 17807, up 34 points.

The big gainers are the banking and realty index which are up around 1% each.

The top gainers are Hindalco, IDFC, Reliance Communications and BPCL which have gained between 2-3% till now. SBI has gained over 3%, a good come back after its fall post weak results.

The biggest loser as of now is Cipla, which has lost over 5%. The other names in the red include Tata Power, Siemens, ONGC and Bajaj Auto.
