Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company (SPARC), the pharmaceutical innovation company, will list on the National Stock Exchange and Mumbai Stock Exchange on Wednesday, July 18, with the ticker codes SPARC (NSE) and 532872 (BSE).

With this, SPARC becomes the first pure research company to be listed on an Indian stock exchange. SPARC now owns the demerged innovative business of Sun Pharma, comprising drug discovery and delivery system projects targeted for the world markets.

It has received active NCE and NDDS projects, a team of expert scientists, equipment and research space. One of the NCE leads, an antihistamine molecule, is in phase II trials in the US.

The other new molecule projects currently in the pre-clinical stage are based on allergy / inflammation or prodrugs of currently marketed drugs. The drug delivery system projects are in the areas of dry powder inhalers, gastric retention systems, biodegradable implants and targeted drug delivery.

The Board of Directors of SPARC are scheduled to meet on 23 July, 2007 to consider the financial results for the first quarter of 2007-08.
