Anand Tandon of Gryffon Investment Advisors feels that post the issue, ICICI Bank will do quite well.
Tandon told CNBC-TV18, "Post the ICICI Bank issue, we will probably find that the stock will do quite well because three years earlier the size of the issue would have brought down the stock price in the near-term. But once the issue is out of the way, the book value will probably rise again because of the valuation, which you would have placed and consequently that will provide a re-rating trigger for the stock going forward."
He further added, "Also the fact that you would have accessed to that much more capital means you can continue to grow for the next couple of years without having to further dilute from here on. So you would expect the bank, which is already very aggressive in its strategies to probably come back with a lot more aggression than it has been able to demonstrate in the recent few months."
