Wall Street ends flat; Brent crude above USD 110

The US markets recovered from their earlier losses to close flat in thin trading, however disappointing global economic reports kept a lid on gains.

Wall Street ends flat; Brent crude above USD 110
The US markets recovered from their earlier losses to close flat in thin trading, however disappointing global economic reports kept a lid on gains.


Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.14% or 18.97 points at 13596.93. Nasdaq Composite was down 0.21% or 6.66 points at 3175.96. Standard & Poor's 500 was down 0.05%or 0.79 points at 1460.26.


In the currency space, euro weakens versus the dollar following grim economic data from the euro zone. The dollar index holds firm above 79 mark.


In commodities, Brent crude halts its slide. Prices rallied back above USD 110 a barrel, recovering from a six-week low.


From the precious metals space, gold prices hold above USD 1770 levels.
