US mkts end lower; Dow down 27 pts

US markets erased early trade gains and ended marginally lower due to negative sentiments in economy and financial sector.

Markets started on a strong note in early trade, Dow Jones jumped nearly 250 points as crude oil prices dropped over 8.5% to USD 105.46 a barrel.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 11,516.92, down 26.63 points or 0.23%.

Broader indices also finished on a weak note after rising higher in early trade. The Nasdaq  Composite fell 18.28 points or 0.77% to 2,349.24 and the S&P 500 Index lost 5.25 points or 0.41% to 1,277.58.
