Dow Jones gains 19% in 2009
It’s the first trading day of the New Year on Wall Street, the Dow starts the year at 10,428 after a sell off last Thursday but the Dow gaining 19% for all of ’09, the Nasdaq starts off at 2,269 up a big 45% last year and the S&P 500 starts at 1,115.

The week will be a big one for economic news, tomorrow we will get a look at US auto sales for last month, and continued improvement is expected.
On Friday we will get the December employment report. Some analyst say we can actually see jobs added to the economy after a full year of job losses. But today we look at manufacturing; a reading form institute of supply management is expected to show business improving in December.
