In the US markets, stocks slid the most since October, wiping out more than half of last week's rally, on growing concern the global economic slump is deepening and consumers' access to credit is shrinking. Manufacturing contracted at the fastest pace in 26 years. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down by 7.7% or 680 points at 8,149, and the broader S&P 500 fell 80 points or 8.93% to 816.2. The Nasdaq lost 137.5 points or 8.95% to 1,398. Indian ADRs slumped on the first day of this week. In Banking space, ICICI Bank was down 13.48% at $ 12.32 and HDFC Bank was down 11.15% at $ 50.82. In IT space, Wipro was down 14.29% at $ 6.48, Patni Computers was down 7.35% at $ 5.42, Satyam Computers was down 7.23% at $ 11.81 and Infosys was down 6.12% at $ 23.61. In Telecom space, Tata Communication was down 5.49% at $ 14.99 and MTNL was down 4.38% at $ 2.84. In other sectors, Tata Motors, which was the biggest loser among the ADRs was down 17.58% at $ 3.75, Sterlite Industries was down 10.55% at $ 4.41 and Dr Reddy's Labs was down 1.92% at $ 8.70.
