The Skindia GDR Index is down 0.97% to 2,001.82 at 3:30 pm IST today while the Nifty is up 1.73%. Of the 15 components of the Skindia GDR Index, seven are up and eight are down. The main gainers are Grasim (+2.87%; weight 3.61%), Satyam Computers (+2.77%; weight 1.51%) and Mahindra & Mahindra (+2.74%; weight 1.96%) and the main losers are GAIL (-7.91%; weight 1.46%), Infosys (-3.00%; weight 20.65%) and Ranbaxy (-2.91%; weight 0.38%). Since US markets are yet to open the change in ADR rates is based on Thursday’s closing prices over Wednesday’s.
Index components trading at maximum premium are Tata Motors (37.89%), Satyam Computers (3.44%) and Dr. Reddy’s (1.89%). Those trading at the highest discounts are GAIL (10.52%), ICICI Bank (5.34%) and Ranbaxy (4.43%).
The Skindia GDR Index P/E ratio is 18.49 times compared to 18.68 times yesterday. Sterlite Industries has the highest price to historical earnings of 39.81 times, followed by L&T at 33.72 times and Mahindra & Mahindra at 24.26 times.
