Nifty 5300 Put adds 8 lakh shares in Open Interest

FIIs net bought Rs 504 crore in Nifty options on March 19. The Nifty March futures ended at 12-point premium and April futures at 15-point premium.

The Nifty Open Interest PCR was at 1.68 versus 1.67. Nifty 5300 Put added 8 lakh shares in Open Interest and Nifty 5400 Call added 5 lakh shares in Open Interest. Stock futures added 2 crore shares in Open Interest.

Apollo Tyres rose 4%. Its cost of carry (CoC) surged and futures Open Interest was up by 56%. The stock rallied 15% last week.

Fresh short positions were seen in Opto Circuits and Crompton Greaves. Opto lost 2% and its futures Open Interest was up by 27%. Crompton Greaves slipped 2% and its futures Open Interest was up by 13%.

Fresh long positions were seen in Bharti Airtel. The stock gained 4% and its futures Open Interest was up by 5.5%.

Triveni Engineering rose 2.9% and its futures Open Interest was down by 5%.
