Balrampur Chini adds 14 lakh shares in open interest

Balrampur Chini was down about 8% and added about 14 lakh shares in open interest. Ambuja Cement was up 2% with a fresh build-up of 6% in open interest. McLeod Russel was up 3% with a build-up of 12% in open interest.

The markets saw just about a 20-25% jump in volumes from yesterday's level, still low, but yesterday was very low, so today just about a bit of a pick up.

But Nifty futures add just about 4 lakh shares in open interest. Of course the options action still continues, 5,000 Put added about 10 lakh shares in open interest, 5,100 Put also added about 6 lakh shares in open interest.

Stock Specific Action

As far as individual stocks go, clearly it was sugar which was being smashed right out of shape. Stocks like Balrampur Chini, Bajaj Hindusthan , all of them saw quite a bit of build-up. Balrampur was down about 8% and added about 14 lakh shares in open interest, just defending Rs 100 mark. Similar trend was seen in Triveni Engineering and Bajaj Hindusthan.

Ambuja Cement was up 2% with a fresh build-up of 6% in open interest. McLeod Russel was up 3% with a build-up of 12% in open interest.
