RELATED NEWS

The full meet of the Planning Commission is to be chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on March 20, sources told CNBC-TV18. The meeting is to consider the mid-term review of the 11th Five Year Plan.

The mid-term review is to be sent to the Cabinet and the National Development Council. It is likely to reset some macro targets, and express concern over education and reduced intake of civil engineering students in engineering colleges.

According to the review, lesser output of civil engineering graduates from technical colleges could impact the real estate sector.

There are concerns over skewed spread of technical education institutes in states. The mid-term review is likely to seek regulation of higher education public-private partnership.
