Food price index up 16.30% YoY as on March 6: Govt

Inida's food price index rose 16.30% in the 12 months to March 6, while the fuel index was up 12.68%, government data showed on Thursday.

The rise in the food price index was lower than an annual rise of 17.81% in the previous week.

The primary articles index was up 14.16%on the year on March 6.

India's wholesale price inflation (WPI) leapt to 9.89%in February and the finance minister has said it could hit double-digits in March.
