India's food price index rose 10.35% and the fuel price index climbed 12.57% in the year to August 7, government data released on Thursday showed.
Both food and fuel inflation eased from the previous week's annual rise of 11.40% and 12.66% respectively. The primary articles price index was up 14.85%, compared with week-ago reading of 15.66%.
The wholesale price index , the most closely watched inflation gauge in India, rose 9.97% in July from a year earlier after remaining above 10% for five straight months till June.
