Crude prices went below USD 54 for the first time since June 2005 as fund selling intensified in the oil market and warm weather continued in the United States and Europe.

 

Oil prices have fallen more than 10 per cent this year so far.

 

Currently, crude is trading at USD 55.59 per barrel, down 50 cents in after hours access trading on the Nymex.
