Crude prices rebounded strongly after larger-than-expected declines in US crude and oil product inventories.

The US energy information administration said that crude stocks fell 3.3 million barrels well above the consensus forecast for a 2.6 million barrel rise.

In after hours access trading, crude is trading at USD 61.66, up 26 cents.
