As news of American casualties among the victims of the terrorist attacks in Mumbai was flashed across the United States, there were anxious responses to the issue of Americans being targeted.
Comments of Americans:
"It's part of the ongoing War on Terror or War against the United States. I think we are hopeful, like most people in America, I know people in New York are, that with a new Administration, we will bring less of this upon ourselves."
"It's just tragic. It's a scary world and I think it's just a tragedy - for India, for America, for everybody."
"For a country like India, which is rising, as a rising economy right now, something like that to happen...I'm pretty sure it's going to make a big impact on the economy in terms of investments and tourists who were going to visit India."
"Yes' I'd be afraid to go there on a vacation or a trip because of that."
People also differed on whether fear of similar attacks would prevent them from traveling to India in the near future.
