Was it a bulls eye? Chidambaram fires LMG at CRPF range

Union Home Minister P Chidambaram fired a couple of rounds from a Light Machine Gun (LMG) to give a sound start to the opening of a shooting drill here today.

Chidambaram pulled the trigger like a professional shooter prompting reporters to ask whether he hit the bull's eye but there were no answers from officials present at Kadarpur school where he had gone to inaugurate the Intelligence School of the CRPF.

After finishing his customary address at the school, the Home Minister was escorted to the shooting range by Director General of CRPF K Vijay Kumar. An LMG was kept ready for the Home Minister to fire the first bullet at the 50 metre Baffle firing range.

Chidambaram was offered ear caps which he refused and stepped ahead to pull the trigger of the LMG. A loud noise from the firing of the bullets echoed in the range as officers and cadets present at the function clapped in appreciation.

"Was it a bulls eye?," was the question of reporters present at the spot but the queries found no answers as the VIP moved to his place to witness the firing demonstration by CRPF personnel with different weapons.
