South-west monsoon weak over Kerala

South-west monsoon has been weak over Kerala. Rain occurred at a few places in Kerala and at isolated places in Lakshadweep.

South-west monsoon has been weak over Kerala. Rain occurred at a few places in Kerala and at isolated places in Lakshadweep.


According to meteorology sources here, the chief amounts of rainfall reports in cm are Palakkad and Idukki 3 each. Vellanikkara, Irikkur and Munnar 2 each. Another 7 stations reported rainfall of 1 cm each.


Forecast valid until the morning of August 7, rain or thunder showers will occur at many places in Kerala and at isolated places in Lakshadweep, outlook no significant change.


Fishermen warning: Strong onshore winds from Westernly direction speed occasionally reaching 45-55 KMPH is likely along and off Kerala coast and over Lakshadweep area during next 24 hours.
