The Nampally Court today sent the five accused in the Satyam scandal — the company's Ramalinga Raju, Rama Raju, Srinivas Vadlamani and PriceWaterhouse auditors Gopalakrishnan and Srinivas Talluri — to judicial custody. The five accused, who are in Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) custody for the last one week, were produced before the 15th Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Victor Emanuel.
Meanwhile, the CBI filed a fresh petition in the Nampally Court today seeking an extension of the CBI custody of all the five accused for two more days. The Nampally Court will be taking up hearing on CBI's request on Wednesday. Sources say the CBI conducted searches at Satyam offices, guest houses and residences of the Raju brothers in their presence.
The Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO), which is also investigating into the Satyam case, also filed a fresh petition in the court seeking permission to interrogated the five accused for six days. The SFIO already questioned the accused in February. The case is coming up for hearing tomorrow.
The court also posted the hearings of bail petitions of the five accused for tomorrow.
